Did you know? If you inadvertently remove a participant from your Google Meet video call, they will not be able to rejoin the meeting without being invited to the meeting again.
Google Workspace for Education users: Participants (both in-domain and out of domain) who are removed from the meeting can't request access to re-join the meeting. If a participant's requests to join a meeting are denied twice, they won't be able to request to join the meeting again. In these cases, the meeting organizer can manually invite them back into the meeting.
There are two ways to add someone to a Google Meet Video call.
Option 1:
- On the right, click the People icon > Click Add people.
- Enter the name or email address > Send invite.
Option 2:
- In the bottom left corner, click the meeting name.
- Click the Copy joining info button.
- Paste the meeting details into an email, or other app, and send it to the person.
NOTE: Unfortunately, we will only be supporting Google Meet for student use, and will not be supporting other platforms (e.g. Zoom). Zoom has several security and privacy issues that violate FERPA and CIPA regulations. You are welcome to use Zoom with other staff members, but Zoom is blocked for all students across the district due to these issues.
