How to Turn Off and On Students' Access to Google Meet Within Google Classroom

  1. Go to your Google Classroom

  2. Click on the Settings (gear) icon

  3. Scroll down to General

  4. Find the Meet icon and slide the slider over by Visible to Students

  5. Click Save

If it is Visible to Students a link in the header of the Stream page or a video camera icon on the top of the Classwork page is available to students.  If it is not visible to students, the link and icon are gone.  

Before your meeting, make it visible to students.  After everyone is gone from the meeting, make it not visible.
